This site is a showcase of the work of Humantus - Matthew James Stephen. This site stands apart from the visual effects, compositing and 3d animation work which he is known for. Motion is a different beast and if your curiosity has the better of you have a look at that work on Vimeo, links provided at the bottom of the page.

It is an invitation to explore the medium of illustration, painting and drawing. Although included is a wide range of portfolio pieces from personal to commissions the focus is primarily on the celebration of art itself, the love of drawing and less on commerce.
The intention is to also embrace the challenge of new projects and collaborations with other like minded creatives, from concept art on big film projects to personal pieces and gallery work.

Matthew James Stephen currently resides in Cape Town South Africa and heads up the animation and compositing team at Fuelcontent as Creative Lead. He has worked for over 22 years in the digital advertising and feature film industry. Working on projects for Ridley Scott, Gavin hood, Phillip Noyce, Sasha Baron Cohen and Frank Miller both as concept artist, compositor, matte painter and VFX supervising lead. He also has a number of internationally award winning commercials in his repertoire.
